ReplyDeleteThe princess, who was very beautiful, always wondered why the hell they lived in a forest when she could be in a big city hanging out with a bunch of friends. Alas, her father decided that she should be isolated, which led her into a few mental health problems. One of these was schizophrenia, she would hear voices all the time. One time she was near a pond when she thought she heard a frog talking to her. Normally, because she knew she was a schizo, she would ignore the voices and continue wondering what it would be like to have an education and own land by herself. But this time she saw the lips of the frog move along with the words, so she listened.
ReplyDelete"Hello," said the frog, "I'm cursed."
"I'm sure you are, you're a frog," she said, "Male, too. I bet you get to laze about, you don't need to think about the people's problems, and you don't need to live with a sociapathic father who is hellbent on isolating you until you become mentally unstable."
"Well..." he began, "Well, no, but I really want to be human again. But I need the kiss of a princess."
"Really?" she was not eager to agree to kiss a disease ridden frog, "Really? Now, if I kiss you, what do I get in return?"
"A loving husband!"he replied enthusiastically. The princess sighed.
"Do you even know my name?"
"What?"
"My name, how could you be a loving husband when you don't even know my name?"
"Um... Can't you just tell me?"
"No. No I won't, you are going to fed for yourself because you are clearly a lazy man, and clearly someone cursed you for a reason. I think instead of getting some witch on my heels to save you isn't worth it."
The frog sputtered, "But I'm a prince! Shouldn't be.. I don't know, helpful and compassionate?"
"A prince? So, you're going to take my riches and land when you "become" my husband."
".... Yes?"
"Go away and fend for yourself, go marry someone who is gullible enough."
The frog turned away and promised himself that she will rue the day that she rejected him.
She didn't, in fact due to the isolation issues she became extremely paranoid. She set up armies and defenses around her kingdom, which she rightfully gained after a few court meetings. So when he did find a gullible princess and tried to wage war he was crushed miserably, and so was his princess who ended up being a heretic and traitor to the throne.
The princess lived happily and got an education. She died at the ripe old age of 84, while she was battling a dragon.
The End.

Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty
Well basically what happens in the story is this: the princes promises an ugly frog to give him food and room and board in exchange for him returning something to her. The literal meaning is that you probably shouldn't make promises to frogs. However, the underlying message is probably something like, "don't judge a book by its cover" or something like that. Other stories like that could be The Beauty and the Beast, Shrek, or the Ugly Duckling.
