ReplyDeleteRepresents the entire population, not just the founding fathers, and establishes the “rule by the people” style of the government

This touches on the emaciation from the UK; the founding fathers believed that a democracy would form a more perfect union and not a monarchy.
3) establish Justice
Again, they are outlining why they are writing this constitution. A government ruled by the people has a better chance of ensuring justice for the people.
4) insure domestic Tranquility
Domestic tranquility refers to peace within a country. Hopefully, there will not be unrest or copulas amounts of crime because people are free enough to be happy.
5) provide for the common defence
The common defence refers to definding the country via a military and such. Note the word “common” in there. This is to ensure that the military serves the entire country.
6) promote the general -Welfare
Similar to domestic tranquility- this part ensures that this constitution is written FOR the people.
7) secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves
Refers to the binding nature of the constitution; that this constitution guarantees liberty to the people and to their posterity. this part ensures that the government has no right to take that liberty away, especially since it says elsewhere that the government is not above the constitution and that the constitution is the highest law in the land.
8) establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
Finally, this section is what all the others are referring to-- this is basically a contract between the people and... the people. That this document is written by the people for the people, and that the things contained in it are law, and that they apply to all citizens of the country. (except women and slaves and black people and immigrants)
