I'll be catching up on my grading this weekend. Check out your grades late Sunday to see where you are at.

  1. I think the music helped and the guy that was on the bridge made it pretty suspenseful. I don't think I would change a thing it was super cool. I like the idea of have one person left. -Chumani Wayd

  2. I can't.
    I'm sorry.
    This is top priority: http://nyan.cat/
Anyways, I'm going to make my video layered, so that I can put up hokey titles and stuff...
And I have really terrible notes.
And oh jeebus it's that stupid current event thing again.
This isn't making me connect to anything. It makes me want to hide in my room, eat cheerios, and watch anime; because most "current events" are terrible events.
    All the time.

  3. They used music and the way of speaking to create drama, as well as that shot of the rapid water after the wobbling bridge. They had sort of a build up to the collapse, with the music, and the occasional speaking. Plus a shot ON the wobbling bridge. I'm like to be simple and boring with these things, so although it's cool, I'll probably stick to simpler ideas with info, because I'm more worried about that than making everybody not stew in boredom.

  4. They added music which made it more suspenseful. I would probably keep it the same, it was very interesting. The voice and music

  11. 1. It showed the problem before the huge crash. You didn't know what would happen! The music was suspenseful.

    2. I would add more footage of people looking at it. I might not make the suspense part too long because it gets a little boring.

    3. I will probably show a problem and not the climax first. I will add suspenseful music. Then towards the end it will be dramatic.

  12. To create suspense they change the camera angles and showed the bridge for a long time. I would put more dramatic music in the video and i would sond more dramatic. I really don't know hat i can use from this to make mines better.

  13. 1) What are some things that this newsreel did well to create suspense and drama?
They had really good shots. They knew where to put the cameras and how long to keep the camera on each spot.

    2) If you were directing this newsreel what would you change to make it better?
I don't really know. Probably give more information about the bridge.

    3) What techniques or ideas can you steal from this newsreel to make yours more authentic?
To switch up the camera a lot. When they did that for this video, it kept people wondering what they were going to see next, and they want to see serious stuff. As soon as it's not as intense anymore it looses people's attention. It is easier to loose attention than to gain it back.

2.Not kept repeating the same footage over and over for so long
3.Dramatic music and narrator voice with eye catching footage.

  15. I think the music really helped. It was frantic and crazy and it created lots of energy. If I was directing it? Well if I was trying to make it newsreel-y then I wouldn't change anything. But If was directing it for modern news I would take out the drama. Maybe some people don't think it's so dramatic? It's not up to me to decide that, I just want to get the facts out. One thing I noticed about this was the way the man is talking. Very fast and serious and melodramatic.

  16. 1) What are some things that this newsreel did well to create suspense and drama?

They were talking about the guy who "saved himself by seconds." When he was walking they were asking stuff like "Will he make it off alive?" and stuff like that.

    2) If you were directing this newsreel what would you change to make it better?

Better footage of when it was falling.

    3) What techniques or ideas can you steal from this newsreel to make yours more authentic?
