Today we are starting to learn about the birth of western drama/theater. To get us thinking about dramas answer theses questions:
1) What characteristics make a good actor? Think of several television and/or film performances you have seen. Then write about three features of good acting and why? (Use examples to support your features)

To make a good play/movie, you need an interesting story and interesting characters. You also need to get the audience to care about the characters.

ReplyDeleteWhat makes a good actor well one thing that makes a good actor is when they can get into the mind of the character and leave himself behind. Another thing is that they have to look the part I once saw a movie and the characters did not look the part or they didn't fit in with the other characters. The last thing a good actor needs is to be able to have great memory. A drama movie need good drama and not something that no one likes. There has to be the right amount of drama not to much not to little.
ReplyDeleteIf the actor is a good actor and there not stiff and sound like they are just reading off of a script and if they are funny and how they look. Characteristics of a good actor should be they can act, they can be dramatic, and they can get in any type of role.

ReplyDeleteTo have a good drama, you have to have likable characters. If you have unlikable characters, people are not going to care what happens to the characters and become bored with the drama.
You have to have a intensity.
To have a good drama, you need to have a character who is not very likable.

Three features of a good drama is suspense, really good actors, and drama obviously.
-A good actor is when they mess up.

1. Three things that make a good actor are that he/she can act, he/she change facial expressions and/or body movement when needed, and if they can make the audience believe in what they are selling.
ReplyDeleteI think a good performance is a combination of good writing and good acting. So a writer obviously has to have skills in putting together good sentences, an at the same time they have to put emotion into it. The writing itself has to make you feel something, and in an all around good movie, that feeling will be that same feeling that the director wants. Then, on the acting side, the actor has to permeate their psyche with the words. They not only have to memorize the lines, but they have to completely understand what it is the words are saying. With that, they can pour emotion into those words and make a great performance. I think some examples of great acting include Al Pacino's performance of Tony Mantana in Scarface, and Javier Bardem's performance of Anton Chigur in No Country for Old Men.
ReplyDeleteA good plot with suspension. Something someone can somehow relate to. I don't watch much tv or movies last good movie I saw was Zombieland it had a good plot and was suspensful and had a lot of funny moments.

-relate. you can relate your personal life somehow with a situation or character in the entertainment piece
-drama. even if it relates if the mood isn't heightened and everything is neutral it is VERY boring
The Characteristics makes a good movies or plays are when there are secrets floating around.The action in the movie and the mysteries that happen in the story that get people curious.
ReplyDeleteI think realistic actor is a good actor. If you try too hard you're going to look corny and nobody will buy what you're doing. Also, it helps if you're really into the role.

ReplyDeleteA good actor is somebody who can play many different roles and make an audience feel a certain way.
ReplyDeleteThe joker in batman uses different small things to make his character seem crazy and obsessed.
1) You have to be able to show your emotions and be able to play a roll in a scene and know what your doing you have to know your lines to.
ReplyDelete2) It has to be believable and something people could see happening. The actors have to be good not some one who doesn't know how to stay in the scene or how to act.

ReplyDeleteSome characteristics that make a good actor is you have to have a lot of emotion. Like make it real. Don't make it look like you acting. Make it look like something that's happening, like as if you were their to see it with your own eyes.
1. They are real life experiences. Like you can relate to the things that they show you on t.v.
2. It has some type of humor. It just has to be funny . lol It's a must !
3. They person has to seem like their into what they are doing. So you'll enjoy watching it.
